Bittersweet

Just before leaving to take my son to school this morning I read the most amazing post on another blog. The writer relates an example of how personal God can be to each one of us. I mean, this was one of those eye-popping, mouth hanging open stories that thrills your heart and confirms how God is interested and involved in every detail of our lives. It was totally incredible. However, I have found my reaction to be bittersweet.

I was thrilled for the gals involved and my heart rejoiced in how specifically God had heard and answered prayer, but at the same time, tears flowed as my heart cried out...why?...Lord, why aren't You speaking that way to me? I want one of those God-stories to punctuate my life...this gal seems to have them daily...what am I doing wrong that I don't hear You or see You writing this clearly over my life? Lord, why do You seem silent? What is she doing that I'm not doing? Lord, I long for one of those defining moments.

As I drove home from dropping my son off at school, I poured my heart out to God as He and I travelled together. I let my emotions flow while life hurried on all around me.

Suddenly, seconds ahead of me, a 5 vehicle crash. No-one was seriously injured, but cars will definitely have some major repair work needed. As I drove away, God spoke to my heart. "Joy, My answer right now to you is to wait. You have heard from Me. Just like you were seconds behind this car crash and I held you back and kept you from danger, right now I am keeping you from rushing ahead and being severely disappointed. The vision is yet for an appointed time. Wait for it because it will surely come." (Words right from Hab.2:3)

Although I would love to see the end from the beginning, God is asking me right now to rest in Him. His wait is for my best and His glory.

Isaiah 40:31,
Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.

Blessings this morning! Hang on to what God speaks to you and your heart.

HE IS FAITHFUL and YOU CAN BELIEVE HIM! If He says to wait on Him, it is going to be HUGE! More than you could ever hope for or dream of.

Love,
Yolanda

Joy,
What a great story. I have learned to take a deep breath whenever things seem to be slowing me from where I want to go; because more times than not I am being protected from danger. Even if that danger is myself!!!
I loved your thoughts today. Thanks for faithfully checking in with me.

Praying for you sweetie as you wait on Him. And also whispering a prayer of thankfulness that you were not seconds ahead on the road.

Love you friend! xo

Joy,

You may be waiting for God to speak to you more, but let me just say that He spoke to me through you. First in the post you left on my blog (the beautiful one)and then just now when I read your post.

Also, everyone who knows Lysa feels like you! We all want those God moments like she gets:) She's learned to look for them and I believe she expects them. We all should really.

You are so beautiful! Thank you for your writing and for sharing yourself so freely through this blogging world.

Love and Blessings,
Melissa

Joy~Remember to look at this waiting through spiritual eyes-it is a time of God refining you for His plan. When He speaks and shows His presence, like He did for you this morning, you can't help but take notice and say "Yes, Lord." I leave you one of the verses from my scripture reading this morning of Isaiah 60:1&2 ""Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you". His glory did appear to you this morning. You can still shine in the waiting!!

Joy,
Oh girl, I am feeling for you right now. God WILL bless your obedience and your desire to glorify Him! If you are hearing Him say "Wait" then you need to wait. He is using this time for a reason. As you wait perhaps you could be encouraged by reading about some of the heros of faith that had to wait on God's timing (Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, David, Esther...just to name a few). Please let me know if there is a specific way I can be praying. You truly are a JOY in my life!

Love Ya, Kelley
